ly natural, TENCEL® is Lenzing Fibers’ brand name for lyocell. A major break-through was made with the development of the unique nanofibril structure of this fiber. TENCEL®, made from wood pulp cellulose, offers a unique combination of the most desirable properties of man made and natural fibers: soft as silk, strong as polyester, cool as linen, warm as wool and as absorbent as cotton. Quite simply a “break-through” fiber.
Progress is One of Nature’s Specialties
The future belongs to TENCEL®. The production process of TENCEL® is revolutionary and is based on a solvent spinning process. It represents the greatest achievement in cellulose fiber technology with a closed loop circuit which recycles the solvent. The solvent is recovered up to 99.5 % and the remaining emissions are decomposed in adapted biological purification plants. The manufacturing process was awarded the “European Award for the Environment” by the European Union.
Lenzing Modal® MAKES THE WORLD A SOFTER PLACE
The Ultimate Softness
Softness through and through. For more than 40 years, Lenzing Modal® has epitomized pure luxury and softness. The ultimate sensual feeling next to the skin. The fiber remains wonderfully soft even after repeated washing and retains its brilliant color. Lenzing Modal® is the ideal partner for daywear, intimate apparel and a variety of knitwear products.
BEECH WOOD – The Raw Material for Lenzing Modal®
The secret of the fiber’s success is pure beech wood. The cellulose produced at Lenzing is extracted from indigenous woods and used for the production of Lenzing Modal®. The quality is guaranteed through the control of the whole manufacturing process – from wood to fiber. The standard of the raw material is decisive for the quality and makes Lenzing Modal® so unmistakable.
Perfect Technology
The in-house pulp production department uses beech wood from the region. The raw material helps promote the quality of Lenzing Modal®. Many of the fiber’s other characteristic properties are associated with beech wood making Lenzing Modal® so unique.
Lenzing Viscose® SETS THE INDUSTRY STANDARD
Lenzing has been producing Viscose, the first generation cellulose fiber, for almost 70 years. The knowledge it has acquired in Viscose production is reflected in the superb quality of Lenzing Viscose®, quality which now sets the standard for the textile industry today.
Lenzing FR® THE HEAT PROTECTION FIBER
More comfort less heat stress. Lenzing FR® is a specialty viscose fiber. The abbreviation FR stands for “flame resistant“. Lenzing FR® is a natural fiber derived from wood. It offers protection from heat and flame in a variety of different applications. Unique thermal insulation properties combined with permanent flame resistance make Lenzing FR® a “Heat Protection Fiber“. It offers protection from all kinds of heat and its functional properties help to prevent heat stress and heat stroke.
