We are a dye sublimation narrow web heat transfer printer based in Providence, RI.  Given the state of the textile industry, and the challenging economic conditions, our revenues increased 20% last year, and are running over 21% year to date.  How are we doing it?  We focus on 5 basic differentiators:

Diversification

We’ve expanded into different market areas.  Although our traditional narrow web printing business for fashion accessories, waistbands, straps and other trim continues to be solid, we have diversified into other markets including, most notably, the crafts market and finished goods market.  This diversification levels our business cycle while moving the top line upward.

Customization

We do custom work.  From decorative patterns for trim to corporate logos for lanyards to licensed team products to ribbon printed with original designs for the home crafts market, all of our work is developed for that particular customer to fit their particular need.

Smaller Average Order Size

Most companies can diversify and do custom work if they devote the resources, but we have built our organization to do all of this profitably with smaller average order sizes.  We often print webbing or ribbon with custom designs in quantities as low as 1,000 yards.

Faster

. . . and we do all of it in 10 working days or less.  We think that eventually the standard lead time will be “whenever the customer wants it,” so we are refitting our organization to make this possible.  If our lead time consistently becomes “whenever the customer wants it,” the competition can equal our performance, but they can’t beat it.

Protecting Our Customer’s Relationship with Their Customer

We are so assiduous about respecting our customer’s relationship with their customer that we will even, if requested, use our customer’s tape on boxes shipped to their customer.  We do our best work when we produce a small, custom order in 5 working days, and our customer gets all the credit.
